Anita Ekberg

Anita Ekberg was a Swedish actor, and appeared in several European and American films. She is best known for acting in the film La Dolce Vita in an action-comedy film. The film was both a critical and commercial hit, as well receiving an Oscar in the Cannes Film Festival 1960. Prior to her first acting gig, the Swedish-born actress worked as an international model. The model was the winner of her first Miss Sweden competition. In the US the actress began to appear in films playing minor roles. The first role she was credited with was in the film "Abbott and Costello Go To Mars", in which she was in the role of a Venusian guard. After appearing in 'Blood Alley,' she won the Golden Globe Award for 'Most promising young actor.' She appeared in several other films during her entire career. This includes the War Drama between Italy and America 'War and Peace,' The Western Film "Valerie" as well as the British Adventure Crime Film "The Man Inside The Man Inside,' as well as"The Dam on the Yellow River," a French and Italian drama The Dam on the Yellow River. In 2015, she passed away in the year 83.
